Complete brand identity system for a personal finance app — logo, iconography, color system, typography, business cards, and brand guidelines that convey trust, simplicity, and financial empowerment.
Discuss ProjectBudgety needed a complete brand identity for their personal finance management app. The brand needed to feel trustworthy yet approachable — serious enough for financial matters but friendly enough for everyday users who struggle with budgeting. The tagline 'Redefining your financial habit' set the tone.
Design a comprehensive visual identity system including logo, icon, badge variant, color palette, typography, business cards, and brand guidelines — all communicating financial trust with a modern, accessible personality.
Analyzed 20+ fintech brand identities. Identified the sweet spot between corporate trust (blues, structure) and consumer friendliness (warmth, rounded forms). Key insight: most finance apps look either too corporate or too playful — none balanced both.
Developed the 'B + Wallet' concept — the letter B shaped as an open wallet, symbolizing both the brand initial and financial management. Explored 15+ variations before landing on the final geometric form.
Built the complete system: primary blue (#1B4697) for trust, golden yellow (#F5C842) for optimism and wealth. Rounded geometric typography. Badge/stamp variant for merchandise. Business card designs in both color schemes.
Delivered a 30+ page brand identity document covering logo usage, clear space, color specifications (CMYK, RGB, HEX), typography hierarchy, do’s and don’ts, and application examples across digital and print.
The visual language balances financial seriousness with approachable warmth. The blue (#1B4697) communicates trust and stability — the cornerstone of any financial brand. The golden yellow (#F5C842) adds optimism and energy, making budgeting feel like an empowering activity rather than a chore. Rounded geometric forms throughout suggest accessibility and modern thinking.

Tested logo recognition with 30 target users. 94% correctly associated the brand with finance/budgeting. The wallet-B icon tested highest for memorability. A/B tested yellow vs blue primary — yellow background with blue icon drove 40% more app store clicks.

Complete brand identity delivered and implemented across the Budgety app, website, marketing materials, and social media. The brand system has been applied consistently across 50+ touchpoints. User feedback: 'The brand makes me actually want to open a budgeting app.'
The wallet integrated into the B letterform became the brand’s signature element — users sketch it from memory after seeing it once. The circular badge variant proved unexpectedly popular for social media profile pictures and merchandise. Lesson: always design a badge/stamp variant for modern brands.
